Times of India: BANGALORE: Akshaya Patra Foundation, which brings smiles to 1.3 million children across the country every afternoon also celebrated the 11th anniversary of their mid-day meals scheme.
The scheme was implemented in government schools with the support of the Central and the state government. The foundation is a wing of Iskcon.
Madhu Pandit Dasa, chairman of Akshaya Patra Foundation said: "It is fascinating to look back to that day of 2000 when the foundation was formed. In two months time, we were able to feed one lakh children in Bangalore and it could have never happened without the support of our stakeholders."
