ISKCON now in Maraimalai Nagar

The New Indian Express: The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) has opened its new centre at Maraimalai Nagar.
The centre has been opened by H H Bhanu Swami from Japan, who is a disciple of ISKCON founder Srila Prabhupada and the Governing Body Commisioner of ISKCON for South India.
The centre is run by a team of four full-time residential monks. It intends to teach the residents of Maraimalai Nagar and the localities nearby that one can get relieved from all their problems and attain a state of complete bliss and joy by chanting the holy names of god.
We will be teaching vedic scriptures like Srimad Bhagavatham and Bhagavad Gita. This centre will hold a special orientation programme for youth to give them a proper direction in their life.
Discourses will be held on scriptures Srimad Bhagavatham and Bhagavad Gita  from 7 am to 8 am every morning. Sunday feast programmes will be held between 10 am and 1 pm. This will include bhajans, lectures on Bhagavad Gita, arati, kirtan and feast prasadam every week (Sundays).
ISKCON was started in New York by A C Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, who in a span of 11 years, circled the globe 14 times, built 108 temples, initiated 5,000 disciples and produced 60 books on vedic culture, tradition and spirituality. The society of ISKCON has built several around the world, including one in Chennai in Sholinganallur. This is because Srila Prabhupada wanted the age old vedic teachings to reach every nook and corner of the world.
The society of ISKCON is well known for the distribution of spiritual literature, chanting of the holy names of god, constructing temples, and prasadam distribution.
